I can answer the question of whether the internship was worthwhile quickly and without much thinking: Yes!
For me, the last six months have been the most influential time I've ever lived through. A different country, different language, different department and in the beginning completely alone. If I let the time pass in review, it seems to me as if I had only moved to Amsterdam yesterday. Time really flew by which is a very good sign and strengthens my belief that it was really worth it.
Before I started the internship, I set myself a goal. I wanted to create a good foundation for a future job at any price and make myself known in the company. I worked intensively for it and as you can see from the milestones below, I achieved this goal and made the most of my time.
My conclusion is that I can definitely imagine coming back to Amsterdam and working at adidas in digital again. I was very impressed by the atmosphere and openness as well as the opportunity to put my ideas into practice. What I noticed in the application process with other companies was that they tried to put me into a sales or retail marketing department. I had the impression that it was rather a disadvantage to have already completed an internship in this area. Therefore I am extremely grateful that Carla and Lucia trusted me to take the first step into R&D. I don't need to explain how important a digital skillset is these days, but I wouldn't have thought the internship would prepare me so well for my future career.
